AudioNote—Note+Voice Recorder App Reviews

Love you who created this, smart, very smart!

I am sure it doesn’t work perfectly every single time for everyone. But for me it has, for how I use it. Mainly for just the basics but I am glad it gives me more options should I need to use them. There is no way I could take perfect notes and this program has my back when distractions happen…and they always happen. I have not experience notes being erased, until it does happen, I have confidence they creators will do their best to fix it once notified. Thank you.

Super for interviews

Audionote is wonderful for interviewing people and then summarizing later. I know GiveWell uses Audionote for this purpose too. They’re really doing a lot to make the world better, this Audionote is really having a positive impact on the world by making their job easier. My only complaint is that I wish the speed up version would correct the voice so it wasn’t so high pitched. It makes it harder to understand the sped up version. It would also be wonderful wonderful wonderful to have basic speech-to-text as a side box or something, to make for easier navigation, even when I don’t take good notes. It wouldn’t have to be good speech-to-text. That would be an amazing feature. I would pay substantially more for either of these features.

One of my most used apps...

I love the cross platform functionality which allows me to use and access my data from desktop to laptop to cellphone.. It works very well for me (I have the paid version) for meetings, notes and anything where i want to record and detail in notes later… The ability to export your notes and audio for longer term storage is (with tomcods) is very useful as well. I’ve been using this app for years with nothing but praise.. Thta’s why I decided to pay for it.. A small price for something that improves my work and life… One feature that I really appreciate is that when using it on my phone when a call comes in it temporarily pauses and automatically resumes when the call is complete.. I have never had problems with this app...

Fantastic Notetaking Tool

Reliable, Smart, Easy. Transferring files, capturing on one device and accessing on another is easy. So helpful to be able to use typed or drawn notes to instantly hear the audio when that note was taken. Your friends will be jealous.

Has Digitally Replaced My Old-School Dictaphone Seamlessly

As a music journalist of more than 20-years, the one thing I have come to expect is CHANGE! From my days of thinking my “High-Tech” Sony handheld dictaphone (complete with a REAL cassette tape backup) was the way to conduct artist interviews after spending hours transcribing the mess from audio to actual NOTEBOOK PAPER (yeah, I’m OLD!!!!), this tool is THE standard of online journalism, folks. I am also in the middle stages of submitting finalized/approved text to my publisher for my first book (keep your eyes peeled for GODSMACK’s Shannon Larkin’s biography set to hit stores and outlets in March of 2017) and AudioNote has been my ONLY resource for logging hours and hours of phoner and live audio interviews for transcription herein. All I can say is; “Where the hell have you been all my life, AudioNote?” I absolutely LOVE and thoroughly RECOMMEND this Application/Tool to any and everyone writing as a hobby, therapy or their livelihood. Price point is almost a joke….it’s as close to perfect and FREE as you can get! Very, Very Highly Recommended!

useful for recording interviews

I’m working on an interview-based book project, where I use FaceTime on my Mac to talk, while I record the interviews with AudioNote and type as much of the conversation as I can. In the past, I would record interviews for books or videos and send them to be transcribed. With AudioNote, I can go back to the important points, listen again, and transcribe just those parts. I hope to avoid hiring a transcriptionist altogether.

One of my favorite apps

I use this app for about 90% of the meetings that I attend and have found it to be very useful. The syncronization of the audio with my notes makes it easy for me to find points in the conversation that I need to review and that has proven very valuable at times as I deal with a wide range of topics and tasks and individuals and my memory is not very keen. This app is very easy to use and has been very reliable. I would prefer a different file saving interface since I prefer the old style rather than this new style which is oriented towards iCloud (which I do not like). I would also like to have the ability to use boldface, italics, and underline features and to more easily be able to change the typeface but those are minor requests. It already has all of the key features that I want and need.

Love this program!

I’ve been using AudioNote for several years. It does everything I’ve required of it. I’ve never had a problem.

Excellent App!

During class lecture, I needed to record my professor, but didn’t feel like doing so on my smartphone, so I downloaded this app, and I’m glad I did. Makes note-taking easy and is highly practical! Now I don’t have to input notes through Word AND have a separate file to open for audio. I just open one file and everything is there. Very, very cool. I’d definitely recommend this app to anyone.

Love it!

I really love this app, it’s really what I need while taking notes during lectures in university Dedinitely five stars!

Great but...

I have nothing to complain about this app. I just would like you to add the ability to change font colors and be able to make my font bold and underline. Notability has that ability however when I transfer my notes and audio using your app they say together and there’s are two separate folders. Thanks AudioNote great app could you please just add on a couple things?

Issues with Saving Files

I lost an entire interview and notes on two others. I saved all three interviews/audio files, but lost data on two, and lost the entire interview on the other i.e. the file path was still there but the actual audio was gone. This app is not reliable.

Great for note taking in church, business, or school applications!

I absolutely love this app. It integrates really well with it’s iPhone/ipad versions. I would definitely recommend you seriously take this app into consideration when deciding to buy.

need font color changes!!

For the next update, can we have the option of changing the colors of the Font please? I am a medical student and my Pharmacology prof tends to make her powerpoints with a black background, so the font (my notes) is not visible when I use the ppt as the background. Otherwise, my med school life depends on this app!! Very useful.

Great and easy to use.

I downloaded this on my Mac after seeing a classmate use it. I’ve been using it for a week now and its easy to use and has proven to be beneficial for something I might not hear the teacher say. Definitely recommend it.

Very helpful!

Love this app! It’s really helpful and easy to use. The only thing is: please add some text formatting options!

Very useful app

It is a very useful app! help me to work and study. Thx!

Maintains my grade!

I have used a few apps like this one when an undergrad, like Notability on my ipad, but once I upgraded to the retina pro, I did away with the ipad (not completely though) and found this one. I love that it is on the computer. The ipad one was useful, but typing on it was not as productive. I love this app. Got me through the police academy and now I am a Wilderness-EMT student. Confident enough it will get me through this program and ones that are in the beyond! Nice work, Sir/Ma’am!

awesome app with room for improvement

Hi there, I love this app! I use it to take notes in class and to record the lectures. It’s awesome. And I love all the features, like the option for different papers, and the folders so I can organize my files. I especially love that the recording is easy to navigate and corresponds with the typed words. That part blows my mind and usually is a grabber for people like myself. There’s nothing worse than having to search endlessly through a recording. Being able to go to a specific section just by tapping the word makes the app!! That said, I have some suggestions. I thought of them because when I try to convince my friends to get it, they ask about these things. For one, highlighters in different colors would be awesome! I also think it would be great if there was an outline function, like you see in Word. Class notes are often in outline format. This type of feature would help organize my notes and make it easier to stay on top of the lecture. The ability to italicize and underline words would also provide great organization to my writing. Finally, I would love to have different fonts, font color, and paper color. As a budding psychologist (I’m getting a doctorate in psychology) and a licensed art therapist, I know that color can enhance learning. It also makes notetaking more fun. This would improve the experience immensely. I recognize that all of these would essentially make the app eerily like Word, but that’s the idea. Most people would love to have such an app. So those are my ideas. I apologize if my ideas are unrealitistic. It may be that many if not all are way too expensive or difficult, but I wouldn’t know because it’s not my area of expertise. I just wanted to share my opinion. Hope this helps. Take care, Catherine

Must-have for the Memory-challenged!

I don’t know how I would have made it through my PhD course work without this app! I LOVE it, and use it regularly. My only suggestion would be to have a manditory save option prior to closing a new note. I lost valuable information on a couple of occasions, before I learned to ALWAYS save prior to closing.
