AudioNote—Note+Voice Recorder App Reviews

Almost a

… cant print or share my lecture notes with the recording Great app though! Has made studying and reviewing notes and audio of lecture very easy. Have told others about it - but as soon as they find out that printing or sharing notes are not available, they are not interested. Adding those features would make AudioNote one of the BEST apps Ive ever used; otherwise - very pleased with its reliability - have not had one issue. Good Job and thanks!!

Almost perfect

This app is the best at what it does currently. However if a few improvements were made it would simply be the greatest university note taking app period. The improvements are: 1) Ability to change the window size and zoom 2) Better PDF integration for notes so you dont wirte overtop of them 3) Ability to change the font 4) More drawing options (Ability to highlight words on PDF which dont cover them) I feel if these improvements were made this app would stay at the top of what it does. I have recommended it to some friends and they all love it! Great app.

A Very Happy University Student

i LOVE THIS APPLICATION!!!!!!!!! and the updates just make it better and better if theres one more thing id love to have though, is to have the ability to change the font to something that appeals to me! LOVE THIS APPLICATIONS SO MUCH ITS SO HELPFUL THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!!!

Need more symbols

Its hard to add symbos especially for superscript and subscript

Dissapointing crashes after the most recent update

This software used to work, and now it crashes before I can get lectures saved. Ive lost half my lecture notes and recordings for the second time in a week.

Great for meetings

I cant say if this is the best app of its type because I havent tried them all. I can say Im not particularly compelled to look for anything else. AudioNote is doing everything I need, and then some. Its easy to use both while recording / note taking, and during playback. I love that theres an iPad version too.

New Version Problematic

I LOVED this app prior to the most recent update and my only negative comment would have been drain on computer battery (which is manageable so not even a real complaint). However, since the update it is not as functional. Recording is intermittent, and usually it cannot find the internal mic. (mic worked fine before and I have tested it to ensure it still works) On the odd occassion (since the new update) that the recorder worked, it recorded over itself in a few spots and some of the recording is completely lost. I am very disappointed to have to find a new app to record and take notes for my lectures.

Changed my life...

I have a medical condition that makes reading difficult. This app changed the way I take notes in University, and ultimately learn. Simple and effective, I would recommend it to all.

AudioNote— Notepad and Voice Recorder — A Must Have App

If you take note while attending classes, meetings or conferences, or for dictation, AudioNote— Notepad and Voice Recorder is a must have app. I find it absolutely essential. Everytime you add a typed note while you’re recording, there is a time stamp next to your note allowing you to get back to that section in the recorded timeline. Very efficient especially if you did not get the time to write all your note while listening to what’s going on. I whish I had had that tool while going to university. Now I use it for meetings and conferences. Love it. I particularly enjoy the French language interface, and it is available in other languages as well. It’s worth the 4.99 $.

I love it but… there are some things that can be improved

I love this app. I can take notes while recording my teachers, and if I miss something I can go back to a specific time in class. However, to improve the app, we should be able to change the font style and SIZE!!!!!!!!!!! Also, when I am writting on a pdf, it starts on the left side as if I am taking notes on a line paper. However, sometimes, I have to fill the info in a box on the right side and the only way to get there is by using the space bar, and then it becomes an hassle if I have to write more than 1 line…So, I suggest that the app puts a text box where we can select a part of the page where we want to write exactly!! Other than that, i love the app. It is greaaaaaat!

Buggy

Great app, I used it all last year, but recently it starts to quit unexpectedly or needs force quitting!

Deleted Files

All my class notes from university got deleted except for the five most recent lecture notes.

Great App for notes. Easily saved and transferred

I like this application for meetings. Dont have to be so precise with my note taking as I can review important parts by inserting on the page where I need to review. So far its been great, I save my work immediately so I have no loss to report and am looking forward to using some of the extended features. Overall it’s been very helpful so far. Paul E

Audio Notes

Great Apps with all the upgrades

RELIABLE!

I use AudioNote on two Apple computers and my iPhone, mostly to record audio and notes on long, technical meetings. After more than 5 years of use I am totally committed to these apps. They handle long stretches of audio without any difficulties. Files go between iOS and OS X seamlessly. (The built-in file sharing system is a little weird, but I just use DropBox.) It’s easy to get to a specific piece of audio: just click on a word in your notes and you are there. I used to use Notebook view in MS Word and had horrible reliability problems with audio recording — lots of crashing and losing all my data, and embarrasing interruptions to business meetings. Not once have I lost anything with AudioNote. User interface has a few confusing points (like you can’t type text until you are in text mode). And the way formatting is handled with cut and paste text from other applications is frustrating. Also, I don’t really have much experience with the drawing tools, and have yet to figure out how to modify or delete objects once they are drawn. But the reliability and versitility of the basic apps for iOS and OS X makes up for the drawbacks.

Excellent !!!

Thanks for this wonderful application. It will be very useful for taking notes in college. I like recording feature and search in this application. One request is that it will be better if there is some feature I can organise my notes by subjects. Along with NoteLook which has such an organizing feature, I can perfectly write and organize notes from classes. With these two Apps, Mac Book becomes an excellent tool for taking notes in classes. Waiting for your update !!!

is It possible to make drawings with Wacom tablet Cintigue ?

Useful but ios doesn’t’ work with bluetooth & poor support

I have never written a review but feel the need to do so here. This app is very useful but has some issues the biggest for me being that the ipad and iphone versions do not work with bluetooth. The developer has been put on notice of the issue; at first it appeared he was unable to accept the defect; then once realizing it was true, provided assurances it would be fixed. Many, many months (more than a year) later, the issue is still not resolved and he no longer responds to support requests. Though it may not seem signficant to the developer, or to others, where one needs to play the audio in class room or other similar settings, not having the bluetooth capability and thus the freedom to move around the room while playing back the recording is a major impedement. It should be a simple fix, given that it’s supposed to work, according to the developer, and works with other similar apps. BUT if you don’t care about bluetooth, then the app does as advertised.

Great potential, but has erased recordings multiple times

I love that you can take notes and record at the same time, and it time stamps the notes. However, there have been multiple instances when I’ve opened a new recording file, tried to record, and it erased the audio on the other file I had open. This is extremely frustrating. I’ve lost valuable audio this way.
